Jaime Kleikamp takes the win at the Inaugural Event at the new Lucas Oil Speedway at Wheatland, MO! &
Follows it up with WSORR’s first ever Light Buggy Points Championship!!!

Sixteen Light Buggys lined up for the start to race the newest track in off road racing. Lucas Oil spared no cost in putting together Wheatland’s Diamond in the Dirt Speedway. With track crews working out the kinks in the new track right up until race time, the racers could not wait to get out there and get dirty.

Jaime quickly rushed up in positions off the start. By the second lap, he was holding a very solid second and inching his way up to Oman, who was in the lead. By lap 3, Jaime had taken the lead and proceeded to run away to victory. Even with a comfortable distance between Jaime and the following racers, Kleikamp Racing could not hold off a very quick Vanden Heuvel. By lap 10, Vanden Heuvel was chasing Jaime down and looking for an opportunity to pass. This race was a question of who wanted it more. With just two laps to the finish, Kleikamp Racing and Vanden Heuvel battled relentlessly. A mistake meant the end of the race for both of the leading racers. The last turn before the finish was do or die, Kleikamp Racing and Vanden Heuvel connected in the corner and crossed the finish line hooked up with nearly a photo finish. Jaime was able to come out of this round with a lead of just mere feet ahead of 2nd place Vanden Heuvel. Truly a crowd pleaser!

“Our GoodYear Tires really worked well, especially with the new terrain that the Lucas Track provided for us” quoted Jaime after the race. We are looking forward to winning the Points Championship tomorrow.

Going into Sunday’s race, all Jaime needed to do is capture an 11th place finish to take the Points Championship for the 2007 World Series Off Road Racing season. Because of a large number of competitors in the Light Buggy class, the track can get crowed very quickly and race-ending connections can be made.

Kleikamp Racing felt that starting in the back of the pack would be the best move to avoid any starting errors from the rush of racers trying to get out front. Jaime held back from the crowd just enough to stay out of any mishaps that might take him out of the race and still finished 7th in the field to capture the Points Championship.

Jaime quoted after the race, “I tried a new drive line from yesterday that proved to be much faster and I was anxious to get out in front to compete for a win, but being so close to the Points Championship, I had to hold back. I just couldn’t take the chance of a race ending wreck.”

Being cautious proved to be successful to take the 2007 Points Championship. Jaime has completed both of the goals he set out to accomplish in just one season, being World Champion at Crandon, WI and Points Champion for the Light Buggy Class.

Kleikamp Racing will be back for the 2008 Season to lead the pack once again and do everything possible to recapture the titles. In the mean time, Team Kleikamp’s off-season will be featured on www.kleikamp-racing.com. You can track the progress and projects of the team all winter long. Looking forward to seeing you at the 2008 WSORR Race Events!

Kleikamp Racing had the privilege of having an interview with Brandon Veale from the Daily Press, Monday, September 17th. Brandon conducted an in depth interview with Jaime, Mark and Adam that should include pictures of the team, race vehicle and our hauler.

Jaime and the Kleikamp Crew highlighted Kleikamp Racing's past season both successful and disappointing. With Kleikamp Racing winning the 2007 Championship Ring and landing just two points behind the points leader, Metz, Jaime has alot to race for. Brandon also went over the Crew's expectations for the coming race in Wheatland, MO. Kleikamp Racing is relentlessly chasing the points leader and will not give in without a fight.

We appreciate The Daily Press granting our team an interview to thank our Crew, Family, Friends and Sponsors for the everlasting support everyone has shown us. Don't miss our upcoming article.

Jaime Kleikamp earns 2007 World Champion Ring and eyes up Point Championship!!!

Round 7, Jaime came out of the most dangerous turn in off-road racing with the holeshot. However, lost it after the barn jump to Matt Gerald. For the first two laps, Jaime ran a very close second while he waited for the opportunity to pass. By the end of the second lap, Jaime had taken the lead and never looked back. The next seven laps, Jaime put nothing but distance between himself and the rest of the competition, thanks to his GoodYear Tires. By the final lap, Kleikamp Racing had a 15 second lead on Metz who was in second. This first place finish, put us tied first in points on Saturday and earned Jaime the 2007 1600 Light Buggy Championship!
Jaime carried his winning momentum into Sunday's race. Jaime did not get as good of a start, but the confidence from his Saturday win, along with the great prep work the Kleikamp Crew put in and the bite from his GoodYear Tires, Jaime patiently picked off drivers one by one. A bad wreck very early on kept the racers under caution for many laps which made it hard for Jaime to get past the 2nd place driver. Jaime's well-fought race was enough to keep Kleikamp Racing just two points behind the points leader.
